L Android is just around the corner. And this morning it seems that something starts moving. For now, developers already have the final version of the emulator Android L developer preview x86 64 bit . With it may start creating apps 64 bit s compatible with Android the next year.
apps built in Java will automatically benefit from this change , however the apps made in other programming languages themselves have to adapt their apps. The move to 64 bits is much discussed, but a logical step was already done years on the desktop and it eventually had to come to the mobile world.
This change will allow developers access more memory space and a larger number of registers and instruction sets.
As if that were not enough, we also have available SDK for options introduced in the new Google Play Services 6.1:
Why this now? Well, the rumored HTC Nexus 9 come with a Tegra processor K1 (but not exactly Intel 64bit). The arrival of Android emulator L and this was a matter of time. But we are aware, these are some Dave Besbris statements, new director of Google+. Will today be the key day For now developers can start testing and how they feel about their apps the jump to 64-bit (at least on paper). <- Place this tag in your head or just before your close body tag. ->
