Search Updates

The version of the Android operating system containing your new phone or tablet may not be the most recent. Be sure to run the latest version of Android to review the section of software updates.

Go to Settings (Settings) & gt; About Phone (About phone, tablet or device) & gt;. Software Update (software update) Your phone or tablet search for updates and automatically download or notifies you that your hardware is running the latest version of the operating system.

Another important step is to check for updates to the applications on the Play Store. Many of the applications that come preinstalled on your new device are updated frequently, so it is very likely that there are patches for these apps. Just open the Play Store, a touch to the icon of the three lines in the upper left corner and select My Apps (My Apps) on the menu. You will see a list of apps that are ready to be updated.

Protect your device

A very important for the safety of your device step is to add another layer of security through a password a PIN or a lock. Also make sure your Android Device Manager (Manager Android device) is enabled, so you can find or clear your phone if it is lost or it gets stolen.

To configure the screen lock, which prevents anyone else using your phone, go to Settings & gt; Security (Security) & gt; Screen Lock (lock screen). In some Android devices, this option can be found in Lock Screen. Select the type of lock you want and follow the instructions to activate it.

The modern Android devices have a built-location tool that helps you find your phone if it is lost. It is usually enabled by default, but you must ensure that effect is on in the app from Google Settings (eye, is different than the [settings] of your phone), and select Security.

Make sure the boxes for “Remotely locate this device” (Locate this device remotely) and “Allow remote lock and erase” (Enable lock and wipe remote) are activated. The first configuration allows you to find your phone or tablet on a map from your computer when you lose. The option of remote lock can lock the screen of your phone and delete all data stored on the device if it fell into the wrong hands and want to protect your personal information. If you ever see in the need to use any of these tools, you can go to Android Device Manager on your computer to view your phone on a map, call, lock and delete the data on it.

Supports and transfer your photos

If you’re switching from one Android device to another, you want to back up your photos, old device before configuring your new phone.

The easiest way to store your photos is to take cable recharge your phone and remove the adapter plug. Plug it into the USB port on your computer and wait for your computer to recognize the device. You can browse all the files and folders on your phone from your computer. To find the photos you took with your camera phone, find the DCIM folder, open the camera folder and drag the files to the location you want on your computer.

If you want to transfer photos to your new device, just follow the same steps, but in reverse: drag files from your computer to a folder on your Android device. I recommend that you deposit in the photo folder (Pictures).

For Mac computers, you need a free program from Google called Android File Transfer . Once installed, you can connect your Android device via USB to view, download and delete files.

Cloud Storage

The cloud storage is one of the best options when it comes back up photos. There are many options for your Android device, including Google’s own service photo storage in the cloud. If you choose to back up your photos with Google, go to the Photos app, add a touch to the icon of the three points at the top right and select Settings.
