Facebook wants to continue to attract users and also be the social network of reference in the developing countries of Asia and Africa. For it has specifically designed the “app” for Android Facebook Lite, a perfect simplified version for mobile and less powerful connections.
Facebook Lite is the new lightweight version that launched the famous social network, which currently only available as a download in Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. This is a very small version and just consumes data, as it has been designed for limited 2G networks and data plans of these countries development.
Note that the current application for Android weighs about 20 MB while this “Lite” version has only a download size of 252 KB, and once installed takes up less than 1 MB, perfect for low-end devices.
According to Tech Crunch reports portal, so far the new Facebook application has already been downloaded more than 10,000 times and has earned high marks from users.
