Instagram joins a select group of apps in Android – CNET in Spanish

Instagram for Android reached 1,000 million downloads in the Play Store of Google, a milestone that was unveiled Monday and that very few apps have achieved.

Reaching 1,000 million downloads is something that, according to Android Police, only Instagram and other 18 applications have achieved. The figure, besides being scandalous, it can also be a bit confusing, because reaching that figure does not mean you have that number of people using the app.

Instagram has 500 million active users across all platforms both iOS and Android, which means that only half of the people who have downloaded the app is using it – something very common with any app, though it varies depending on the application. (Android has 1.400 million active users monthly).

The exclusive club in Android

In addition to Instagram, there are dozen and a half of applications that have achieved the same record of the 1,000 million downloads. Most services are Google applications or services of Facebook, the largest social network globally kneading a user base of more than 1,500 million.

Here the list of applications that have already managed to break this mark:

1. Facebook
2. Facebook Messenger
3. Gmail
4. Google Search
5. Google Plus
6. Google Chrome
7. Google Drive
8. Google Maps
9. Google TalkBack
10. Google Hangouts
11. Instagram
12. Play Games
13. Play Books
14. Play Movies
15. Play Music
16. Play Newsstand
17. Google voice synthesis
18. YouTube
19. WhatsApp

How many of these applications have downloaded and installed on your Android device? And what you think will be the next application to reach this figure after Instagram? Tell us in the comments.
