Microsoft, Samsung settle patent dispute Android – CNET in Spanish

The developer of Windows 10 confirmed that both companies gave by closed a dispute that led to court. They did not know the details of the agreement.

Microsoft said on Tuesday it had reached an agreement with Samsung to end the legal dispute that led them to a US court and it was related to patents belonging Android developer Windows 10.


In a brief press release, Microsoft also said that the terms of the agreement are confidential. No Microsoft spokesman declined to comment.

Microsoft sued for patent rights against Samsung Android last August. Then the company said that the manufacturer of Galaxy S5 had breached a contract agreed in September 2011, which had to pay an agreed amount of money for each phone or tablet sold.

In October 2014 it was learned that Samsung had paid US $ 1,000 million in royalties for patent Android, this amount corresponded only to the equivalent of one year of rights transferred.


But Microsoft has not been the only one bothered with the other part. Samsung also displeased with the acquisition of Nokia’s mobile division and sued him claiming he had violated a business partnership agreement between the two companies.

In 2014 the technology giants got rid of several technology patents to end of the existing manufacturers struggle between Android phones. However some agreements prevail, such as the Microsoft and Samsung have been resolved or even the latter company Google, and for which both companies are cared back in any conflict with others.
