The launch of Google Android for Work earlier this year offered a unified way to ensure business applications and to separate work and personal data on Android V5.0 using an EMM platform as MobileIron. Android V5.0, combining MobileIron and Android for Work enabled Android applications installed and be operational in a secure workspace on the device, without the need to be modified. Since safety checks are SO level, they can be applied to any application that operates on that OS.
However, many organizations have devices that operate earlier versions of Android, specifically V4.0 to V4.4. These devices have no security checks for Work level Android OS, Google reason that led to the development and recent release of Android for Work application. This standalone application provides a secure work space where other business applications can settle in and are protected from unauthorized access. However, this can not be done without changing the application itself.
MobileIron AppConnect home applications to protect corporate data at rest without touching personal data. The result is that each application becomes a secure container whose data is encrypted, protected from unauthorized access and can be removed. MobileIron AppConnect expanding to Android for Work application, developers can deploy any AppConnect application workspace Android for Work insurance. Since AppConnect already has a broad ecosystem of third-party internal applications within its own structure, this expansion can dramatically increase the number of applications that can be secured by Android for Work on existing Android devices.
