Microsoft allowed yesterday that smartphones with Android operating system, its rival Google, can access Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

These applications were available from January under the separate Android tablet form. Regarding OneNote, which is part of Office, it is now available in both application Android.Estas applications are free, but Office 365 subscribers have premium features.

Microsoft hopes to repeat the success with the Office applications for smart phones and tablets running Apple’s iOS system.

A long-term aim is to encourage users to use Office 365.
