Jelly Bean Android 4.3 lets you use the volume buttons as ... - Android Faqs

One aspect that many Android phones, headed by the Nexus, not much care is the inclusion of a physical button to take pictures.

Sony has usually been an exception in this field and other systems Nokia is still committed to this in some Windows Phone devices.

The point is not based on most users to become accustomed to shoot by pressing on the screen or voice commands if they’re implemented as Samsung makes the Note 2 to S4.

However

Google has seen fit to implement the camera shutter on the volume buttons in Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. These buttons until that version served to zoom, although almost everyone used the possibility to pinch the screen to zoom in and zoom couple scene. But there are two issues to consider.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean allows use the volume buttons as a camera shutter

The first is that this applies in the camera application that comes with Android 4.3. All mobile modified interfaces that modify this apk but with Android version 4.3 need not make use of this new feature .

On the other hand we are talking about a button on one trip, which is not comparable to a double round button for autofocus as have some Android phones. That is, we must continue to focus by touching the screen so that the use is not the same as if you integrate dedicated button for that.

However

is a more useful zoom implementing these buttons as usually is more comfortable on screen.
