“OK Google,” the voice command that allowed activate voice search without pressing a button on a mobile device, is an excellent feature. However, it only worked when the device is in English.

With the arrival of Android 5.0 Lollipop has conveyed its Design Materials and new features, now you can use “OK Google” in Spanish.

First, you need to download and install the latest version of Google Search ( Google Search ) on your Android device. I tried it on devices with version 4.0 on the Nexus Nexus 6 and 9. If you do not have a tablet you may just need to wait a while to have it and it may also be part of Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Second opens the configuration of Google Now , go to Voice and then a Detection “OK Google” .

Here You have three options. The first call From search application Google is the one that allows you to use the command “OK Google” from Google Now or Home screen ( Home). Activate it and you’ll say “OK Google” on either screen to start using voice commands.

The other two options are disabled by default and usually not you can activate unless you have English as the default voice settings of Google search language, although worked for me on a Nexus 6 and not in another, despite having the same version of the app and Android .

If you have selected English as the default language, but you also have the Spanish enabled, you can also search in Spanish.

To enjoy the role of “OK Google” in different parts of the Android interface. The option called Always on , lets you activate voice commands “OK Google” from any screen interface. Reactivation will enable you to slide the circle and then ask you to train search Google for this are familiar with your accent, pronunciation and voice.

The last option called the screen is locked allows that “OK Google” works even when the device is locked. This means you can say “OK Google” at any time to search by voice or give a command to perform an action on Google search. For example, you can say “OK Google, call Nicole”. Your phone will activate the call automatically without you having to touch a button.

We have contacted Google to see if at least all the options “OK Google” Spanish work on the Nexus 6 once it’s released or if it only works on Home screens. We will update this story when I have more information.
