BBM is successful, but not Android - Android Help

BlackBerry Messenger has come to the world of messaging applications on one of the worst times. WhatsApp dominates, although not noted for its updates, the fact is we can not talk of many recent errors with very few outages today. But BBM is getting positive numbers, except Android, which seems to succeed.

A null

Release

BBM was launched as a continuity of service that existed for smartphones from the Canadian brand, but now also going to be available for Android and iOS. The launch of the application, in fact, was nil. Not that it was not successful, but because there were problems when it comes to the Android version is concerned, because before the official availability of the final version that was to launch BlackBerry, Internet appeared in a preliminary version of the application you downloaded millions people, and the system collapsed, probably because that old application consumed more server resources. As BlackBerry could not control the situation, I had to withdraw the application the same day that launched on September 21. IOS users who had already downloaded the could still be used. Users who have downloaded the wrong version for Android, actually had to uninstall it or stop using it. Whatever happened, BlackBerry was going to work on making this application was unusable. And indeed, that was the reason why they needed time to fix the problem. In any case, even if the launch had to be canceled, the large amount of downloads confirmed that its success was clear.

Incidentally, the fact that it was the wrong version for Android service which collapsed by the number of downloads, the app shows promise to be very successful in the operating system of Google.

New

shot waiting list

However, a month later, on October 21, it was announced that BBM would be thrown back to it again. This time, though, would be a little difference, and that is going to launch with a waiting list. That is, users would receive invitations to access the service gradually, with the objective that the collapses occur and not all could use the application properly. Nor was it a big deal, because it was a matter of days the withdrawal of the waiting list. With regard to statistics obtained by the application, we found that users of iOS and Android totaled five million downloads in just eight hours, ending the day with 10 million downloads. A week later, only the Android app has already been downloaded over 10 million times. The latest figures that we speak of 80 million users in total, but that figure likely will have already changed.

BlackBerry Messenger

In iOS triumphs rather than Android

However, it does have some really relevant information in regard to the implementation success is having, or rather, the diversity of the success you have in the two operating systems that came last October. For example, we find that the Android version of BBM is alone in the Top 10 in four countries: Indonesia, UAE, Saudi Arabia and South Africa. For its part, the same is not true of the iOS version, which prevails in Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Actually, you only need to compare numbers in some countries. In Malaysia, the application for iOS is the number 14, while Google Play is the number 44. In Argentina, BBM for iOS is number 1, while it is number 14 on Google Play. And in the Philippines, which we remember in these difficult times being experienced by the families who have had to bear the consequences of the hurricane, BBM for iOS is the number 26, while Android is number 144.

In Spain

In Spain, the situation is really like. The messaging application Canadian version for iOS is on the 88th, while the Android version is found in the place 172. And especially surprising because the opposite is true with other applications. For example, Facebook Messenger for iOS is ranked 108, while on Google Play we find it in the place 22. Everything could be just the type of user of BlackBerry Messenger and Facebook Messenger. Perhaps this latter application is selected by the young, while BBM is the choice of professionals. Although this does not fit too because a lot of young people have had BlackBerry, being a really affordable in the golden age of the iPhone smartphone. Chances are that everything is due simply to a known BBM is longer for those who have used smartphones application, while Facebook Messenger should be the choice of many novice users, who do have an account on Facebook.
