Monterazo, a software engineer at Nintendo of America, has revealed via his Twitter account that the Japanese company is working on developing its own Android tablet aimed at the education market.

explains, “I’m experimenting with a tablet of Nintendo. The system is based on Android, but is fully modified and unified as database tablet.” Later he added that “we are only testing the communication environments of educational games that children share through the tablet” and that “Nintendo is testing only Android, but really want a system with Unix environment written in C / C + + “.

Nintendo

worker insisted, in any case, it is a product of educational “aimed at schools” with games featuring Nintendo characters, but in any case not a product that will compete GamePad with 3DS or Wii U.

Nintendo has not made any public statements to corroborate or deny the report published by Monterazo, but considering his usual secrecy is more than likely that if the project goes ahead there is an official announcement until the final product is ready for commercialization.
