Geeksphone launch a 'smartphone' with Android OS and Firefox - Reuters

MADRID, 29 Nov. (Portaltic / EP) –

The Spanish company

Geeksphone has announced a ‘smartphone’ high-end called Revolution that incorporate operating systems Android and Firefox OS, interchangeably depending on the user and choose “without losing the warranty.”

However, Geeksphone will not use the brand based on the Mozilla open source operating system, although it is based on Mozilla Open Web technology Boot2Geck. Thus, they have the same features and access to Firefox OS marketplace.

Geeksphone Revolution will be launched soon, and users who had booked the Peak +, which has a price of 180.29 euros may change by the new ‘smartphone’. Free specific price of the new terminal, however, is not specified. Revolution Geeksphone surely will equal or exceed the Peak + specs.

Geeksphone Peak + integrated OpenWeb, had a 4.3-inch IPS display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD cards. Also, its rear and front cameras were 8MP and 2MP respectively and had EDR Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, GPS and WiFi N.
