TomTom Go Mobile Arrives on “Freemium” version for Android – Hypertext

Browsers TomTom is one of the most known and used before landing smartphones as true GPS systems. I’m talking about eight years ago when it was very normal to have a TomTom in your car with maps of your area, a device that was expensive and has seen how smartphones you ate a lot of ground , and all applications like Google Maps.

The arrival of TomTom Go Mobile application stores for iOS and Android was years ago and affordable formats, from 30 to 40 euros could be Spain maps downloaded to your mobile, unlike Google Maps or Maps you need an Internet connection. But everything evolves and those responsible for the known company decided to launch a “Freemium” version of your application to convince users who either do not know or do not want to spend that money on an application without testing. But the bad news is that this version “Freemium” only reaches Android devices , however, consider what you can do.

TomTom updates its maps at least four times a year.

The most important thing is that we can download it and open it freely with almost no restrictions of operation, ie can configure routes and using traffic alerts how well they work TomTom. Yes, and here’s the important, can only use it for 75 kilometers route each month above that figure the application notifies you must pay the € 19.90 a year it costs the service or € 44.90 for a subscription of three years.

The model “Freemium” is extremely interesting in this type of application, which by their nature do not we use very often, and can serve shuttle to users who doubt or for those who are gone accustomed to its use and decide to pay. Is a smart move by TomTom because it will get a very high number of downloads in a platform that unfortunately suffers greatly from piracy.
