We tested the Nokia N1: Android El Salvador was needed? – Hypertext

We all know that the old Nokia is now just a memory in our minds. But from Espoo not satisfied with that. In business networks and maps, now want to return to the hardware, since the contract resulting from the sale of the mobile division at Microsoft had certain clauses that allowed a certain time, from Finland were re-launch devices without using names acquired Microsoft, as “Lumia”. In that sense, they presented the Nokia N1, one tablet designed by Nokia in Finland, and manufactured in collaboration with Foxconn . Much has been said about what it meant for the future of the brand, but until now could not know how to behave in reality.

The first thing you see is the controversial design . Much has been said about his resemblance to the iPad Mini, and I think especially in the rear, who notes there’s absolutely right. The front seems a mix between the iPhone 6 and iPad Mini, but much less refined in finishing the edges. It is a design, although I appreciate being. 4: 3 does not love

The back of the Nokia N1 itself is clearly a very much based on the iPad design, as it even shares the location of the camera and the name of the company, if Apple is replaced by iPad.

One thing that I value are the finishes that bear little relationship with what is usually a tablet of 250 €. We are a body unibody (one piece) that feels great in the hand, and very light.

Here is the screen on the N1 from a diagonal angle, usually those who do suffer screens. Despite being a laminated IPS, escontramos loss of brightness and contrast, which we see in the rest of tablets from Apple or Samsung. Otherwise, it’s pretty good color reproduction, and excellent in sharpness, achieving 324ppp making almost invisible pixels.

Busting the hardware, highlights the new connector which should have been a standard in the high end of MWC, USB Type C. It is a connector that brings finally the reversible connector which we have, plus many improvements expected in the field of energy and speed. Definitely the best success of Nokia.

Another great points, but Suddenly a standard is reached with Lollipop. The performance of the Nokia N1 and its overall performance is quite good, considering we do not have a high-end hardware. The key is that the experience is very similar to AOSP, with just some added not too intrusive as the Z Launcher.

I loved Z Launcher, because it takes some of the things I like from another as Aviate, which suggests applications dynamically according to our use at certain times or from certain places. Open applications that are not in the main screen is very simple through gestures with lyrics that recognizes almost perfectly.

As I said before, I value your 4: 3 , because I think it is ideal to consume web content and office. For videos, as in the Nexus 9 or on any tablet, the display shows black bars above and below.

Do not say that. The Nokia N1 just find similarity with the great products that the old Nokia had accustomed us . In a way I understand it, because most of the company went to Microsoft. Make no mistake, the Nokia N1 seems to me the best Android tablet you can buy for its price, but not a product in which prime the detail precisely something expected coming from whence . Here we find a good product, but rather impersonal, and unrefined where it should stand out.

A good design and construction is not only doing a good assembly, but to make that invisible bond. The Nokia N1 liked, but from Finland intend to go back to being who they were, will have to use much stronger than your name arguments. Many people no longer remember what it was Nokia, and those that do only half remember most iconic and differentiated products
