Android failure jeopardizes million phones – La Prensa de Honduras

USA

According to security firm Zimperium, a flaw in the Android operating system allows access to files, applications and other information with just one message multimedia text. Once installed, it is possible for someone to install, delete or modify programs on a smartphone from anywhere.

This breach of security leaves them vulnerable to some 950 million devices that use the popular operating system.

To attack a potential victim, the hacker must know the phone number, but also the device must be configured to automatically download files attached video, so disabling this feature may provide some protection.

The solution prospects depend on phone manufacturers (using the operating system) and even telephone operators, which could take some time.
