Google announced an update to Android devices repairing a critical vulnerability that allowed the attacker to remotely access a smartphone via e- multimedia (MMS). The incident was reported last week by security firm Zimperium, who had alerted the company of this decision.

Known as Stagefright, the vulnerability of Android enabled the attacker could access photos, videos and audio without the need to open an MMS message. With this update, Google prevents this.
