BlackBerry launch two ‘cheap’ new smartphones with Android – unocero (blog)

apparently, BlackBerry still does not give up in the hardware business. The CEO of the company, John Chen, said in a recent interview with The National that two new smartphones are on the way: one physical keyboard (called Rome) and the other with only a touch screen (name Hamburg). Both run on Android.

But then what is the difference with Priv, the first smart phone running the company with this operating system? It is recalled that since its launch late last year, the team failed to boost sales of Blackberry, which fell to only 600,000 units during the last quarter.

For precisely this new movement seems to be motivated by the low sales of Priv, because despite the novelty of its design and modern features (such as version 6.0 of Android), its price, $ 700 seems excessive for most buyers.

for this reason, the two new models will come with a label more affordable price (around $ 400) and will be a mix of technology, as we mentioned.

although there is still no official confirmation of the company, technology-specific sites, such as ArsTechnica, published one, although quite blurred, new filtered image devices.

for now it is unknown when is this pair of smartphones were revealed, but according to Chen’s comments, this will happen in the course of this year, which will give fans of the brand something new to wait, especially if they decided not to purchase a high price for their Priv
