Android TV will join local screens this year – The Universe

The CES was chosen to announce the entry of the Google operating system, Android TV, throughout the Latin American area event.

In 2015, brands like Sharp and Sony will integrate the system within their televisions of various ranges and betting on intelligent content and boosting an important category of appliances such as the televisions.

“This year we will grow in the product line, we integrate the Android platform in the Bravia TVs assembled in Ecuador. Production in the country is a strong point in the growth strategy of the brand, especially in large screens, “said Hiroshi Sakamoto, president of Sony Latin America.

And for the Japanese firm, Ecuador is a very important market in what refers to TVs. Devices sold in the area, 60% are produced in the country.

The recent Android models have new features like search by voice command and automatic synchronization with Google Cast, allowing content smart phones or tablets are transmitted in larger screens.

The Sony televisions operated with this system allow access to games, applications and other digital content in Google Play online store. Users can also control them with smart watches and mobile devices.

Other brands like Samsung or LG also took the opportunity to, despite including other operating systems, forge alliances to share content with apps like Netflix , Pandora, Amazon, Spotify, among others.
