Microsoft Office officially comes to Android tablets – CNET in Spanish

The apps do not include support Lollipop and need a device 7 inches or higher, ARM processor and 1GB RAM.

In November, Microsoft announced the arrival of the beta version of its Office applications to Google’s mobile platform, and just over two months later, the applications come completely finished and ready for the users start using their Android tablets.

Microsoft said Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Android are . designed and created from scratch and especially for those devices and utilize their benefits of mobility and exploit productivity options


The company also emphasizes the participation of users in the beta that came out in November – 250,000 downloads of the three applications, which were made from 110 different countries. With downloads, Microsoft could determine the performance of your app in 3,000 different variants of Android and 500 different phone models. In the beta, the apps had an average rating of 4.2 out of 5

If you want Office for Android, you need to first meet certain requirements: Your tablet should be seven inches or greater;. if it exceeds the 10.1 inch, you must pay a subscription to Office 365 if you want to edit or create documents. The tablet must have an ARM processor and 1GB RAM or higher. For now Office for Android supports Android 4.4.x, nothing Lollipop support for now.

Support for Intel-based tablets will come in the next quarter, Microsoft said. The basic functions of editing and creating files are available for free, but applications include the option to unlock more features premium with a payment within the app. If you are a subscriber to Office 365, all functions are obtained.

The Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications are already available for download from the Play Store.
