Google

event held yesterday at 18:00 (CET Spanish) we knew finally allowed officially the new Nexus 7, but also highlighted by the presentation of singular Chromecast. Almost in passing Google added another announcement expected: the Android 4.3 .

The new version of Google’s mobile OS just had relevance in a presentation clearly dominated by the Nexus 7-I simply had to confirm the numerous leaks, and it was especially important for the new commitment of Google in the field of relationship with television. Why Android 4.3 was in the background?

Google does not need

iOS 7 response time

so it seems, judging by the rate at which Android is being updated and the cycle of new releases. been talking about Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie for months , but Google has not released minor updates rather than a Jelly Bean that maintains its validity.

And

maintained its good performance but probably also because competition is not threatening that strength. The latest venture of Apple with iOS 7 could have changed things, but what has been seen not seem to have worried Android developers , who seem to have enough room to work in a more round for when you really need it.

Jelly Bean has managed to grow consistently. At launch were introduced noteworthy features such as multi-user support (for tablets), the arrival of Google Now or smooth user interface. Version 4.2 changes come in November with more cosmetic than anything else, although there were important inclusions as SEL inux safety-and this trend has continued Android 4.3 on a not particularly remarkable innovations.

Android 4.3 or Android 4.2.3?

The relevance of this version seems to be even half as was presented at the press breakfast offered yesterday. Just did devote a few minutes to talk about some of the new features, among which are the restricted profiles for applications and data and support-this other, more interesting, Open GL ES 3.0 .

These options are in addition to others like mode support Bluetooth Low Energy (or Bluetooth Smart), improvements in the system location through the use of WiFi networks or support the VP8 encoding from Android devices, something that adds a new management framework DRM that will benefit distributors of video content.

But these changes are not particularly significant and confirm that maturity of today Android is a solid platform and at the moment seems to be taking a more conservative attitude. A success , in my opinion. What about yours?
