Why Nokia chose Windows Phone instead of Android? - Unocero

class=”c14″> Why Nokia chose Windows Phone instead of Android A lot of Nokia fans has surely crossed the mind question “Why Nokia did not choose Android?” . In conversation, Stephen Elop , Executive Director at Finnish company, explains how it is decided to use Microsoft’s operating system instead of from Google.

First, you must remember that at the time there were reports that indicated that Nokia did consider going with Android to a new path, but ultimately, Elop took the route of Windows Phone to create a new range of devices.

Also, do not forget that Stephen came from a post at Microsoft, giving some light as to their possible bias on the software of this company, but nothing has been confirmed about it.

On the other hand, in a round table attended by the British newspaper The Guardian were obtained Elop new statements about the decision to use Windows Phone .

First, Elop says his company already saw coming which a single dominant company outside the Android environment, and how Nokia was late to enter that market, he chose to do the sensible thing and take Windows Phone to become “the third option” to be offered to existing Android and iPhone.

“I am very happy with the decision we made, what we were concerned about a couple of years ago was so high risk that a hardware manufacturer would become the dominant Android. We had a suspicion of who would be on the resources that were available, vertical integration, and remained respectful to the fact that it was late in making the decision [to use Android]. Many others were already in that space, “said Elop.

According to Stephen, the most important thing for telephone operators (especially in the U.S.) is that the devices does not offer a single model, so having to Android with Samsung (which is the strongest rival in that ecosystem) and the Apple iPhone, Nokia would be the third alternative, a factor by which managed to have a stronger alliance with AT & T in the United States.

So for those still questioning the decision of Nokia, the reality is that the company chose to go for the choice that seemed to be most suitable in terms of business that would satisfy more users than a phone clamored Nokia with Android.

However, Nokia seems to have taken the place as the strongest rival in their own environment, even when Windows Phone fits a wide road to go to be at the height of sales have Android or iPhone.
