If you were contemplating to buy a watch Gear S3 but you didn’t want to change your Android phone, no problem. Samsung has confirmed through its Twitter account that Samsung Pay will be available even if you use the smartwatch with a phone that is not Galaxy.

Up to now know the compatibility of the Gear S2, and S3 to other Android phones from version 4.4 or higher. However, last year’s version does not allow the use of Samsung Pay if it is not paired with a phone Galaxy. Although the company had not given details of whether this would be the same with the new version of the watch, a question of the journalist of Android Central, Alex Double, on Twitter revealed the news.

9to5Google points out an important fact: although the Gear S3 to make payments with Samsung Pay if you have another Android phone, this device will not be compatible with the system of the company sudcoreana.

Although the company gave no further details of how you can activate the Samsung account Pay without access to an app on the phone, the source exposes two scenarios: the first is that an update to handle everything from the clock, and the second is that through the app Gear Manager, allows the management of the connection with the watch and the payment account.

The Gear S3 went on sale on 6 November, and companies like AT&T will begin to deliver between the 23rd and the 28th of November.
