Android will change to avoid lawsuits – Merca2.0

It is common for technology companies continuously face a series of lawsuits for patent issues. For example, it is fully known that Apple has spent years facing trial against Samsung. For its part, Google is facing since 2010 a lawsuit by Oracle.

Android takes five years fending off accusations of Oracle, who argues that Google has used Java patents relating to belonging to Oracle after the acquisition Sun.

However, without a definitive legal ruling in between, Google has decided to stop using the Java APIs that belong to Oracle in its next version of Android, which would be coming at some point 2016.

With this move, Google cut short of the problem and leads to a profound renewal of its mobile operating system.

Android has more than sixty percent of the market share within smartphones, and is rumored to undertake various changes that would revolutionize the industry, such as the merger of Android and Chrome OS, Google’s operating system for desktops and laptops that has failed to take off.
