You can now download Cortana for iOS and Android – CNET in Spanish

Jason Cipriani / CNET

Regardless of which mobile platform you use, and can be used anywhere Cortana .

Microsoft announced Wednesday the availability of the virtual assistant Cortana, before exclusive Windows 10 PC and mobile for iOS and Android devices.

The only obstacle to start Cortana used on iOS and Android is that you need to have registered your device with the app stores in the United States and China, as for now the app’s virtual assistant is available only for both countries.

Because Cortana iOS and Android is not so immersed in the operating systems, the virtual assistant will not have as many features as Cortana for Windows 10, one of the features that will not be at Cortana for iOS and Android is the function that Cortana is always listening and say a voice command, Cortana becomes operational.

Another function that Cortana for iOS and Android has not –but in Windows, yes– is the option of asking Cortana to open applications.

In the post Microsoft Wednesday Cortana highlights three functions for iOS and Android: reminders location shown when it comes to the place that triggers the action; quick answers if you can not answer calls and the option to carry Cortana automatic tracking of packets sent and received.

Despite the shortcomings, Cortana for IOS and Android synchronizes with Cortana information on Windows 10; so any changes to preferences will be reflected on all platforms where Cortana used

Microsoft forward from 2014 Cortana would rival mobile platforms.; and was last May when the company said it would be this year when the virtual assistant – which takes its name from a fictional character in the game Halo – would come to both platforms. In recent months, Microsoft let Android users will download the beta of Cortana; iOS users could only register and receive beta gradually.

Cortana for iOS is now available on the App Store; Cortana Android alike, is now available in the Play Store. Note that US users and China are the only ones that can download apps – for now.
