Enable Skype group video calls between iPhone and Android – El Comercio (Ecuador)

Skype announced today, Thursday February 18, 2016, users of iOS and Android US and Western Europe will be able to do group video calls from their smartphones and tablets from next week.

The feature will allow users to talks with up to 25 contacts at once . Skype designed Two new modes for video group: the former allows users to see each other in a grid, and is designed for calls between a group of people

the second method allows display a picture of a person speaking , along with a small scrollable row of images with the other participants, plus the style of a remote meeting or conference.

in this mode, users can also ‘anchor’ the image of someone , so they can always see a great view of the person they considered most important in the conversation.

users can change who they’ve pinned during the call, or remove the option selection and return to default Skype primarily to show the speaker.


This update not only allows group video Mobile to Mobile , where everyone is looking at a smartphone or tablet. People who are on a desktop can also join a group call that is in progress using their computers.

Skype has decided to enable these conversations on mobile devices as a strategy Microsoft , as the company faces increased competition from services like Google Hangouts, which also offers group video calls across different platforms, and often comes pre-installed on phones with Android.
