The new Pixel and Pixel XL of Google are large terminals. We would adjectives praising everything good that paint. Waiting to test them, of course. What they will not do good, is to be sold.
Shortly after announcing the date and price of the Pixel, Google announced it was saying goodbye to the Nexus that so many of the joys we had given to fans and users. But when you stop to think, were not the Nexus, was its price. The Nexus 5 in particular, it is a device that swept in the mouth-to-mouth thanks to its price and features. Had limitations which the new Pixel, or its successor high-end as the Nexus 6S were not —camera, battery, plastic construction flimsy— but it did not matter because the price was irresistible.
No surprises
LeEco Pro 3, with characteristics similar or superior, now on sale, less than half the price of the Google Pixel.
The Pixel has the same price as the iPhone, but it is not really the iPhone with who competes. And it offers nothing, absolutely nothing, that is not in other smartphones in the market. The reason? Can’t.
Google needs his assistant, Google Photos, and the rest of singularities that has dedicated 20 minutes to highlight during your presentation are available on as many smartphones as possible —both iOS as Android—. The Pixel hits the market dead, and it does so because Android is so successful, so mature and so complete that you do not need to Pixels or Nexuses to succeed. Stated another way, the more strong is Android, and weaker in the market will be smartphones that do Google. And today Android is very strong.
Whatever your choice for wanting to buy the Pixel, there are better options and cheaper
We have the excellent OnePlus 3 still recent for half the price in Europe, while in Asia they have the even more new, faster and cheaper LeEco Pro 3 for $ 299 to change. Less than half the cost of the Pixel, almost the same software as that of the Pixel —and that the advanced user will be able to leave exactly the same— technical specifications equivalent or better, and the best: it is already in the shops. Is not a release to a future full of unknowns.
In a world full of iPhones, OnePluses, LeEcos and Galaxys so strong and present. Who is going to wait for a Pixel expensive, desaborido and without points of sale beyond that will be updated before? You will have your faithful, no doubt, but unfortunately, the Pixel will be a minority.
A smartphone ‘unnecessary’
Google spent billions on Motorola as a last resort to avoid a civil war between manufacturers of Android in the courts.
