New screenshots of Android 4.4 KitKat: iOS will look like 7 - Android Help

There are two main features in iOS 7. One is the colorful, and over minimalism, it was previously missing in iOS 6. Well, the new pictures we can see Android 4.4 KitKat show that this new version will also introduce similar changes. It will be much more minimalist, and bet on the color.

By the way, I must say that the smartphone that is running Android 4.4 KitKat is a Nexus 5, of which most likely will be presented next week. This is the first real images of what will be Android 4.4 KitKat, which until now had only been seen by some quite some time capturing a test version not allowed to know how would the launcher (or Start menu) .

KitKat Android Lockscreen

Unlock Screen

One of the photographs that have let you see the window unlock the smartphone. For starters, we have a light blue background, which comes to show that Google might have inclined the same colorful Apple. Actually, it is nothing strange, because everything is a matter of fashion. The dark side has been left unlocked in the window, and ironically, the icons have lost color. While at the time it was much easier to find with colorful icons on a dark background, now we see are icons in grayscale with a reduced opacity. As can be seen in the photograph, the camera icon is present, to allow us to directly access the camera without having to unlock, select the application and wait for it to run. This change is present for some time in Android and even iOS, but we see that it will be kept in Android 4.4 KitKat, but varying the size of the camera, and the position, now would be in a corner.

Home

regard to Home, yes we find a number of new features to consider. For example, now the main bar located in the lower section of the screen, instead of showing five icons, has come to display three. In iOS, for example, has always been four, can be reduced to less icons. However, Android had almost always seen the five icons. One center is usually the application menu, and two each side of this. Some launchers they even have several main bar. However, now it seems that Google would bet simplify everything much more, with three icons. The center will remain that gives access to the applications menu, while the left is the camera and on the right on the phone. Although it is likely to allow modify this bar, it seems that Google intends that the other applications are in the top section. Actually, it makes sense. Before we met main applications were in the main bar, while the upper section could be used for something less important applications and apps drawer to house them all. It was too confusing, and gave too many chances. Google wants to reduce, at least, what they propose.

Android KitKat Home

application grid will be 4 icons wide by 5 high, and it is possible that we find larger icons, again imitating the style of iOS, which really was necessary, and more with screens larger, they had made the icons were too small, and could be used more than fit before.

Among some other details, the bar has been removed for separating the lower main bus, and the rest of the main section of Home. And now page counters for different sections of Home, which would be three, but could be extended if we add many widgets or apps.

Drawer

applications

application menu has changed considerably. For starters, we do not have a dark background, but now the bottom of it is transparent. Again, have returned to remove the Widgets section was in existence. Probably we will be able to select the widget you want from home itself, without having a specific section for these in the apps menu. Here we must again refer to the larger icons, and 4 x 5 grid now adjust the screen size. The strangest thing of all is that there is no icon gallery. This could be a simple mistake, or because Google would have led the gallery to another place. What is clear is that the SMS icon is. Although it could just be a bug or something out of the Android version 4.4 KitKat tests would confirm that unify Hangouts also text messages, which would now have a single application for messaging, such as occurs with iMessage Apple.

KitKat Android Apps

For now, though, still have to wait, as we can not ensure that it is a final version. Next Tuesday could be officially unveiled the new Android 4.4 KitKat, besides the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 10.
