Five tricks to save mobile data on Android phones – Telam

Users of smartphones with Android can follow five tricks proposed by Google to control the expense of your mobile data and not caring so much about to exceed the limit imposed by your phone plan.

The first measure, as explained by Google in a press release, is to activate the function “Reduce Data from Chrome”.

In this way, the browser will compress web pages and remove unnecessary content when loading a site through a slow connection; thereby you can save “up to 50% of the data plan”.

In the second place, the Internet giant recommends to look at YouTube in the way of wifi connection.

“Thanks to the option ‘View it later’, it creates a list by which you can easily access the videos you want to see without spending data. And if you can’t wait, you can also configure the option to watch HD videos only when you have wifi,” explained Google.

To enable this feature go to the app of Youtube and go to “Settings”, then “General” to “Limit mobile data usage” and enable this feature.

In the third place, there is an option to use the Google Maps app without the need of spend data.

“With your Google Maps Offline, it is possible to download a particular geographical area and use different functions as the step by step instructions or access to useful information without the need of an Internet connection,” noted the company.

on the other hand, the american company recommended that the user identify applications that have a high consumption of data, accessing from their phone to “Settings” and then “Data Usage” to check how much it consumes each app.

finally, he advised to disable automatic updates of applications on Android devices in Google Play by clicking on the menu icon (represented by three horizontal lines) located at the top left of the screen.
