A failure in Chrome for Android lets you take control of almost any & # xA0; smartphone

A team of security researchers has discovered a new security flaw in the Chrome browser for Android that essentially allows an attacker to gain remote control of the terminal. The failure even affects users of the latest version of Android.

The flaw was discovered by a Chinese security expert called Guang Gong, and presented in 2015 PacSec conference in Tokyo this week. Although specific details of the failure were not announced (for security reasons), the researchers say that they contacted Google to notify them of the vulnerability.

To be a victim of the vulnerability the user has to visit a web page malicious, and the researchers showed how it acts to remotely install applications on infected phones.

The worst of this ruling is to ensure that allows attackers to take advantage of it to take control of infected terminal a fairly rapid and relatively simple manner, unlike other exploits like. Fortunately, so far it seems that the ruling had not been released, and Google should fix with a patch as soon as possible. [The Register via Android Authority]
