Users of WhatsApp on Android can now begin to bookmark or highlight important messages in their conversations.

The version 2.12 .338 app now available in the Play Store includes this development, along with other minor changes of stability. The function is being activated gradually, so you need a little patience if you already you updated but still do not see the option.

To highlight or bookmark a message allows you to identify important messages for later viewing more easily without having to browse the entire conversation looking for the message. Highlighted messages are stored in a special section inside information from the conversation.

Spanish CNET elaborated a guide to learn how to highlight messages. While the interface changes in Android, the instructions are basically the same. Just press on the message you want to highlight, choose the star icon in the displayed menu and the message and be marked. Now, go to the information of the conversation and you will see a section on the highlighted message.

Highlight possible messages in conversations between two or more people.

The tool to highlight messages is useful, especially in group discussions in which very few messages are really useful and valuable to be preserved. If you’ve been for a meal and you want to save the address of the place, for example, place a star in the direction it will save you having to navigate between all messages.
