id=”contentNote”> The new variant detected by Symantec Security Response is known as Android.Fakedefender , and makes the device with the operating system Google locks similar to what happens with the technique known as Ransomware . Thus, the device is taken “hostage” by denying the user
id=”contentNote”> This is a variant of the malware known as FakeAV and so far only affected computers and laptops . This intruder pretends to be an antivirus and intentionally modify the state of computer security and tries to convince the user to purchase a new version of software in order to remedy the infections or problems existing security. The messages “ pop-up ” to convince users to take action on the screen popping up which removes malware , says Symantec in a statement.
