  • Google IO Many regard this as one of the least interesting of recent years. Going public, of course, the changes are few. For developers the story is different. There are new tools and services that deploy apps.

Many notes from the first day it outside mentioned in the chronicle of The World:

    On Android and iOS.

“Available in Android and iOS” has been one of the most repeated during the speech this morning. Many new Google applications come to both platforms. Some cases are really incomprehensible. Hangouts, unified messaging tool (and now independent, was previously integrated into the Google+ app) runs smoothly on iPad but so far can not be installed on the Nexus 7 and other Android tablets.

    In other cases

opening makes perfect sense. The new network games such as Game Center rivals that of Apple, but has an advantage. The game developers can use this tool not only for its Android titles, but the rival platform.

    Google+

must be registered in Google+ to use virtually all services presented today, or at least to use with all its advantages. The new Google Maps is probably the tool that is saved from this rule, but at the cost of losing some functionality.

    Search by voice

Good idea and the result is curious. In ChromeOS now you can search just saying “Ok Google” and your search term. The interesting thing is that if the result is compatible with the Knowledge Graph (those cards with expanded information), a voice can respond to some of the most relevant data.

    The other Galaxy

hardware The only surprise of the day was their own version of Google for your S4. Will be sold in U.S. to $ 650 next month. The price is the same as having the terminal without operator subsidy but S4 advantage is that this will not have any of the software elements of Samsung , only Android operating system at its best.

What does this mean for the Nexus range? It’s a strange move, but for many users certainly welcome. The interesting thing will be whether users S4 “official” can do the same with their phones. Remove all traces of the software from Samsung and have an Android phone “pure”.

    Looking Android

    desperately

is strange that Google has not announced any significant changes to the Android platform beyond the new services. Imagine four scenarios:

    1. Google has decided to move the timing of updates to the fall, when traditionally launches its Nexus phone

    2. The platform is already mature enough to not require periodic changes.

    3. The arrival of Sudar Pichai has tipped the balance in favor of Chrome and the bulk of the efforts now being directed toward it.

    4. Google wants to give room for a larger number of updates between the major manufacturers.

    And Tablet?

Google Nexus launched last year in July in this event. The logic pointed to a new version, but there is no trace. In other editions had a second conference with more news on the second day but Google has condensed all this year in a very long keynote presentation. Today Thursday will be all technical sessions. As is the case with Android, one possibility is that Google is saving the artillery for the Christmas season and book a presentation for September or October.
