Actually, this new application becomes the substitute for Google Talk, Google+ Messenger and Google+ service for video chats and combines all these services in a single platform that also allows video calls and “interactive conversations” according the company says.

Like other similar applications, Hangouts lets you see when your friends have read the posts and when are responding but unlike others, allows you to resume talks on different devices, not being based on phone number.

Among the new features is the ability to make video calls which can add up to 10 people. To encourage conversation, Google allows viewing of Youtube videos in groups and even the use of visual and sound effects.
