Android remains the operating system most vulnerable – Conectica

The people of CVE Details take years to publish a list of the programs and operating systems more vulnerable. Now that you have completed the 2016 we have known the list last year, and Android has remained in a place somewhat worrying.

Android, the operating system more vulnerable in the 2016

As we can see in the image below, Android has finished 2016, with 523 vulnerabilities open, a figure much higher than 2015 (a year that ended with 125 vulnerabilities open). That means that Android is four times more unsafe than the previous year, something that we are concerned that we are users of this operating system.

Android

Although it is worrying, we should also know that is something that makes a lot of sense, since Android is the operating system used. That means that it is much easier to detect errors, like Windows, iOS, OS X, etc

in Addition, there are millions of smartphones are very low-cost with Android installed, devices that have versions which are very old in this operating system. If we add to that a low knowledge in security, the result can be disastrous. As always, our greatest ally is common sense.

let’s Hope that Google keeps working to improve this aspect, and that in 2018 we will not have to regret that this number has continued to grow (although the current trend points that will be the case).
