With the World Congress of Mobile Devices (MWC, for its acronym in English) around the corner, the rumor of a smart watch from LG for this year with Android Wear 2.0 doesn’t sound far-fetched.

According to a report from GSMArena, citing other sources, there is a document leaked from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC, for its acronym in English), which would corroborate the existence of at least one new smart watch with Android Wear for this year.

The report claims that there would be at least four variants of the clock and judging by the leaked information, the device may incorporate a processor Snapdragon Wear 2100, one of the more recent releases of Qualcomm, and that promises to improve the energy efficiency by up to 25 percent compared to the Snapdragon 400.

The source says that due to the 3G connectivity and 4G would be of easy implementation in the chip, it is possible that the next watch from LG can be connected to the network and be independent.

The rumor comes shortly after it became known that Android Wear 2.0 will arrive in February, updating some older devices and giving way to new releases, probably in the congress, tecnológico de Barcelona, among which we could include this LG. Taking into consideration the good relationship between the sudcoreana and Google, and the LG V20 was the first device with Android Nougat, this rumor is not so crazy after all.

remember that from several months ago, manufacturers in the Android ecosystem Wear have not made important releases, because Google had not released the operating system update, which left Samsung Gear S3 — now compatible with iOS and Android — and the Apple Watch Series 2, almost as good as the unique developments of the market.

This week there have also been rumors about the launch of the LG G6, a phone that does not come with modules, as confirmed by the company to CNET, although it will have novelties in terms of design and functions.

CNET, and CNET in Spanish will be next month in Barcelona to bring you all the ins and outs of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in that city.
