The company has launched an Android app store that offers paid apps in China, surpassing Google as online store to try to increase the amount of digital content that offers the largest mobile market in the world.

Amazon, which opened its Kindle e-book store in China last December, has launched its Android application store during the last weekend for Chinese users to download free and paid applications , said Amazon spokesman Billy Huang in China on Monday.

Amazon is the first company in Western technology offering payment platform Android in China and Huang has said the company is working with software developers to increase the number of applications offered.
