Amazon launches its Android app store in China - Reuters

SHANGHAI, 6 May. (Reuters / Portaltic) –

The company Amazon.com has launched an Android app store that provides payment applications in China , surpassing Google as online store to try to increase the amount of digital content that offers the largest mobile market in the world.

Amazon, which opened its Kindle e-book store in China last December, has launched its Android application store during the last weekend for China to users download free and paid applications , said Amazon spokesman Billy Huang in China on Monday.

The official app store Google only offers free applications in China . Google China has declined to comment. The Amazon App Store has to compete with hundreds of local rivals that offer free and paid applications, some pirates, and users often worry about the ‘malware’ to download applications from these sites.

Amazon is the first company in Western technology offering payment platform Android in China and Huang has said that the company is working with software developers to increase the number Application offer.

launch of the App Store and the Kindle e-book store in China opened the way Amazon to offer a wide range of devices as the Kindle eReader and ‘tablet’ Kindle Fire. Huang has refused to comment on the release date of the Kindle in China.
