At last we have an official application for Android Reddit – Hypertext

It seems that we finally have an official Reddit app for use on Android that does not suck . Reddit bought not long ago the most popular application to use your iOS community. Alien Blue, a sign that they were taking into account the mobile platform, but not much happened after that … until today

In a statement that appeared on Reddit few minutes ago the company said it is working on a new application for Android which reached the beta phase today, and also the new iOS app should follow soon (if it is based on Alien Blue or will be written from scratch, do not know by now).

Reddit is one of the most popular sites visited by day by millions of people in all the world. But if something has lacked all his life, it is a nice user interface. Cries some modernization. It is not that the essence of the site is lost, but to bring it to the XXI century . Mobile applications are one of the weakest points of Reddit, and it is good to know that the company is stepping forward, especially on Android, where only a handful of third-party clients offer the best experiences.

opened the beta for Android Reddit publicly, will update this article with links.
