The performance of your Android will improve significantly if … – Hypertext

The issue of the lack of optimization applications for Facebook is not new by any means. And beyond that a user note that your device goes slower, or “feels heavier” with the implementation of the network, anyone can notice just by checking your list of installed apps, Facebook who usually more space occupies storage, and often is the app that consumes more battery power and data.

In the subreddit Android, decided to test multiple users to check how much Facebook affects the performance of a mobile . With a simple application for benchmarking , proved the time it takes to start applications when Facebook is installed, and if not . Of course, you can not take these results as universal, because they always go to several depending on the applications you use the most, your phone model and usage pattern of each user. However, the results are a slap.

Facebook, plague

Aside or if you do not like the social network, the truth is that the Android app is pretty terrible. Consumes a lot of RAM, spend data so infernal, and of course takes a good chunk of the battery, in part because it is constantly running in the background even when you hours not use it. I myself took the time to test my tablet and smartphone (Fire 7 and Nexus 5), and to my surprise startup time of applications fell by almost half when I uninstalled Facebook . Surprise because not just saving obvious resources that would uninstall it, but that was affecting the phone’s performance in general, even when plenty of free memory.

To test I installed DiscoMark, a free application to measure the performance of the device. Before each test I restarted the phone to make anything possible cache, and chose the same applications they use on both occasions (with and without Facebook installed). I let the screenshots speak for themselves.

Solution

Although Facebook has not only this kind of negative impact on Android performance, in my case and that of many people (especially those with midrange devices and low) simply uninstall will do almost miracles.

Facebook knows about this problem, and therefore offer a version lite of its application for Android, but unfortunately leaves much to be desired. However, mobile version of Facebook which can be accessed from any browser for Android, performs excellently .

Personally I found the solution to the monster application Facebook, to open the web from Chrome to Android , and add a shortcut to my desktop. If you use Chrome or some other browser Chrome-based can receive notifications , and not suffer the problems of normal app but if you get all the benefits.
