Pepsi is preparing its first Android cell P1 – CNET in Spanish

Pepsi aims to diversify its business by selling mobile phones and accessories in the coming months.

The rumors gained strength when Mobipicker blog published the first image of the first Pepsi cell and some specifications of the product. However, the rumor gained even more strength when Pepsi confirmed to Reuters news agency plans to launch a cell.

“Available in China only, This effort is similar to Pepsi products recently licensed worldwide including clothing and accessories, “said a spokesman for Pepsi Reuters in an email.

Pepsi does not plan to manufacture mobile phones and accessories but thinks licensing its brand to a partner manufacturer (so far only in China).

According to Chinese blog Mobipicker and Sina, the cell would be called Pepsi P1 and integrate 5.5-inch screen, eight-processor MediaTek MT6592 core 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

Also, the P1 cell Pepsi would have a 13-megapixel rear camera, a front camera of 5 megapixels, 3,000mAh battery and execute Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Although Pepsi did not mention a filing date or price, rumors indicate that the company would submit the Pepsi P1 on 20 October with a price of around US $ 205.
